APPLICABLE Mil SPECIFICATIONS: FP series meet or exceed the electrical, mechanical environmental and dimensional requirements of Mil R-26. |
RESISTANCE TOLERANCE: ± 5% is standard on values above 1 ohm. ±10% is standard on 1 ohm and lower. 3%, 1%, .25% and .05% are also available. |
CORES: High purity ceramic impervious to moisture will withstand severe thermal shock. |
COATING: Special high-temperature silicone. |
DIELECTRICAL STRENGTH: 1000 VAC minimum for all FP series resistors. Available wound inductive or non-inductive. |
RESISTANCE WIRE: Highest quality copper-nickel-chrome alloy, depending on resistance value. |
SHORT TIME OVERLOAD: In intermittent usage the applied power can greatly exceed the wattage rating. However, since each pulse is somewhat unique the factory should be contacted for specific requirements. |
POWER RATING: Power rating is based on (1) 350° C maximum surface temperature in free air. (2) 3% maximum R in 2000 hour load life test. |
DERATING: FP types have an operating temperature range of -55° C to +350° C. They must be derated at high ambient temperature according to the curve shown below. |
